Their work has played a key role in shaping some of our most successful digital campaigns and video-centric web projects. I would encourage anyone in need of compelling video content to get in touch with them ASAP.

Five Five Collective was born at Drexel University. While other film students spent their senior years crafting short narrative films, we chose to go in a different direction.

Our six-month co-op experiences in New York City opened our eyes to the world of film and video production as not just an art—but a business. So when we returned to Philadelphia and it came time to choose our senior projects, we decided that instead of creating a film, we would create a company.

After creating videos for several Drexel born startups, the University’s own Charles D. Close School of Entrepreneurship approached our fledgeling company in search of a promotional video of their own. The Close School became Five Five’s very first higher education client.

The video, titled “We Are Starters,” featured several Close School entrepreneurs (including Shark Tank star Christopher Gray) along with a scripted voiceover, and went on to win the school a CASE Circle of Excellence award in 2015.

That same year, Drexel introduced a new program called DragonsTeach which gives science, technology, engineering, and math students the opportunity to earn their teaching license while getting their degree at Drexel. DragonsTeach reached out to Five Five to produce two short videos: a cinematic promotional video with voiceover, and an interview based recruitment video featuring current DragonsTeach students.

Since then, we’ve partnered with several departments within Drexel, such as the School of Education, Office of Special Events, and the Academy of Natural Sciences.

In 2018, we paired up with our alma mater yet again to produce a series of videos in support of their new $750 million Campaign. These videos, featuring Drexel students and faculty, each told a unique story of impact.

These videos are being released on the Campaign’s “Stories of Impact” page where if you look carefully, you’ll also find the story of a certain Drexel born video production company.

Five Five Collective is a company of Dragons. We’re proud of our roots and love supporting our school any way we can.
